The people behind the fabric
Eight women. Every piece made by hand.
Tampoori began in 2020 as a mother-daughter project with GH₵500 and a return to roots. It has grown into a team of six women who handle everything from fabric preparation and batik wax-resist to finishing, quality, and getting your order to you wherever you are in the world. Every piece of Tampoori fabric passes through their hands.
LEADERSHIP TEAM

Artisan Lead
After a career as a matron, Aba did not want a quiet retirement. She wanted a colourful one. She returned to the craft she had loved her whole life, hand-dyeing fabric, and became the heart of everything Tampoori makes.
She is the one who reminds the studio that you cannot rush a good thing. The batik technique, the layered dye baths, the patience required to produce a piece worth keeping, that is all Aba.

COMMERCIAL LEAD
Efuwa saw what Aba was making and knew the world needed to see it. She stepped in to organize the studio, document the dye recipes, name the prints and build the systems, that turned a deeply personal craft into a brand that ships fabric to customers worldwide.
Where Aba brings the artistry, Efuwa brings the architecture. Tampoori exists in its current form because of what she built around it.

OPERATIONS LEAD
Adwoba is the engine room of the Tampoori studio. She runs the day-to-day operations with precision and care. She is the face and voice many customers know, the one who makes sure orders leave on time and questions get answered.
Her fingerprints are on the foundation of how Tampoori operates, and they are present in everything the studio does today.
PRODUCTION TEAM

abena
The pioneer trainee of our Baatsonaa cohort, Abena was the first to join the Tampoori family. Her journey from neighbour to master artisan is woven into every piece she touches. With deep dedication, she sets the standard for the craftsmanship we see in the studio today.
Mansa
Mansa joined the studio with a hunger to learn. She has spent her time at Tampoori mastering the art of the resist-dye, pouring her hard-working spirit into every textile that leaves her hands. Mansa brings a vibrant energy and an incredible work ethic to the Production team daily.
Adwoa
Adwoa joined the team to complete this dedicated trio of makers and has quickly become an indispensable part of the rhythm. Her commitment to the craft is evident in her precision, ensuring that the legacy of handmade Ghanaian textiles continues with every new batch
STUDIO TEAM

EKUA • SPINTEX
Based in our Spintex shop, Ekua is often the first face to greet the freshly dyed fabrics as they arrive from the vats. With a keen eye for detail and a steady hand, she manages the essential finishing stage, ensuring every yard of cloth meets the Tampoori standard.
For Ekua, the Spintex studio is a place where tradition meets the daily rhythm of the city, and she takes immense pride in prepping our textiles to travel from Accra to the rest of the world.

Esi • Labone
In the serene setting of our Labone boutique, Esi bridges the gap between the maker's hand and the final home. She possesses an intuitive understanding of color and composition, helping visitors navigate the stories woven into every batik pattern.
Esi views the Labone shop as a gallery of Ghanaian heritage; her work is about more than just retail. It is about sharing the esence of our process with everyone who walks through our doors.
